ANYWAY. sincere made the whole video game liveblogging/liveplay thing seem so cool, I had no choice but to be a sheep. So here it is.

Kunsel, what is your deal.

I mean, seriously. You're lower on the totem pole than Zack, right? It would have been much smoother, story wise, to introduce Kunsel as the rookie Zack had to explain everything to. The player would have still learned the vital parts of gameplay. But no, Kunsel is Mr. Exposition for Zack.

Sigh.

Kunsel's deal: He's a terrible, mysterious, and also terrible character.

It would have been too clever to make Zack any good at his damn job. It would also have robbed him of his amazing plot point where it turns out that everything about Zack is just him mimicking Angeal because of his hero worship.

So, just so we're clear: Cloud is imitating Zack who is imitating Angeal who is a tool.

Because FF7 is an amazing canon.

I knew the amazing resemblance between Zack and Angeal wasn't accidental.

I'm not going to spoil you about Zack and Angeal's amazing plot point. But it's true. Zack is just mini-Angeal.

I will spoil you about Kunsel, though. His emails start getting fucking deranged.
