The characters may only say a few words, but their lips keep moving until you press X to continue.

I did the first three easy battles, now I'm trying to get under Hojo's lab coat again. I mean-- EXTRA SPECIAL PROGRAM :D

I'm going to kill it twice as hard because it beat me the first time.

I mean, with SOLDIER 3rd Class Level 1.

Kunsel, what is your deal.

I mean, seriously. You're lower on the totem pole than Zack, right? It would have been much smoother, story wise, to introduce Kunsel as the rookie Zack had to explain everything to. The player would have still learned the vital parts of gameplay. But no, Kunsel is Mr. Exposition for Zack.

I'm surprised that I'm actually using magic-- sorry, materia. I just finished (read: quit) playing Final Fantasy VIII and the way that combat system is implemented, actually using the magic you have in your possession is a lot less rewarding than junctioning it to your stats and letting it gather.

I guess it's more similar to the FFs that came before it, where magic was really the only good thing.

I miss the Toad spell.

Okay, that was pretty cute.

DMW flashback scene! Zack is bragging about how much he's improved. Angeal summons his data from last month for a spar, and they're clearly using the exact same moves on each other. Angeal lets this go on for about five seconds, and then ends the training by... hitting the floor with his fist, because yeah, and then contemplates leaving Zack alone with Sephiroth.

I guess the DMW is not a terrible way to show us Angeal's character.
